As we head towards November we are also entering STONEWALL SEASON. Stonewall, whose motto is “Acceptance without exception” have worked tirelessly to promote equality regardless of gender or sexual orientation. 1-10 November is “Stonewall Season”. People across the globe will be campaigning for an end to discrimination against the LGBTQ+ community. As such, we at Rainbows have decided to host a “bake-off” to raise money for one of our favourite charities – BYOU in Wigan. Pupils wishing to take part can bring a baked item into school on Wednesday 2nd November. The goods will be sold in school and tasted by a panel of judges who will award a prize for the best baked good. Anyone wishing to enter the competition can see Mrs Dawson, Miss Simpkin, Miss Cockram or Miss Preston. For more information about either BYOU Wigan or Stonewall please follow the links below or visit our “Rainbows” page under the “Pupils” tab. Best of luck! https://www.wigan.gov.uk/LINC2/Survival-Guide/Information-for/LGBT/More-about-the-ByoU-Project.aspx http://www.stonewall.org.uk/
