Pupils added Fairtrade to their break today by buying some Fairtrade chocolate (YUM!). A total of £40 was raised which will go towards helping people all over the world! Thank you! Our next sale will be at Friday break.
Today staff ‘tucked in to save lives’ by holding a Big Brekkie for Christian Aid Week. We were able to fight poverty with a bacon barm!
We we’re also able to incorporate some Fairtrade products into our Big Brekkie in order to move on to achieving our next award, ‘FairActive’.
Thanks to all those that got involved and to Co-Op for donating products and a £10 voucher for the quiz prize.
A special thank you to EBACC Team for slaving in the kitchen on such a hot day to cook the delicious breakfast and to Mrs Almond for making the tea and coffee.
Shevington High have been awarded their first Fairtrade award – FairAware. We are now on our way to becoming a Fairtrade School! Bring on the next one!
Shevington have been busy the past two weeks raising awareness of Fairtrade in school.
In geography, year 7 and 8 have been learning all about the importance of Fairtrade, learning specifically about Fairtrade Footballs – who knew they even existed?!
Years 7 – 11 have been learning all about the importance of taking a break in PD and how we can make our break better for other people by choosing Fairtrade products.
Staff have also got involved by having Fairtrade tea and coffee at their weekly meetings.
At break time on Fridays we have been selling Fairtrade products in our new Fairtrade tuck shop – this will be open every Friday break time and will be known as ‘Fairtrade Friday’.
All this has put Shevington on track to receive their first Fairtrade award, ‘FairAware’ and put us on track of becoming a Fairtrade School.
