Some of our pupils have just returned from a fun-filled and action-packed weekend in Paris led by the Languages department. The trip was a huge success and extremely well enjoyed by all pupils. They managed to fit so much into such a small space of time!

After a 6am start on Friday 16th October, we headed for Calais via the Eurotunnel and then made the long journey down to Paris. Upon arrival at the PGL Chateau de Grande Romaine, pupils had a wonderful meal and then after the long journey caught up on some much needed sleep!

On Saturday, after croissants and coffee, we made the ascent up the Eiffel Tower on foot, a little testing for the calf muscles but the incredible view of Paris more than made up for it! Fortunately, we then were able to relax as we sailed down the river Seine on a boat cruise where we picnicked and saw all the magnificent famous landmarks such as the Notre Dame, the Louvre and the Musée D’Orsay.

The afternoon was the teacher’s favourite; the Sacré Coeur and Montmatre. Whilst some sat in a pavement café sampling a café au lait, many shopped until they dropped. It was a great opportunity for us to practise our French in the shops.

Sunday took us to Disneyland and we enjoyed the exhilarating rides such as Thunder Mountain and Space Mountain. We all spent lots of money, even the teachers went a bit crazy on all the gorgeous Disney toys and decorations.

Sadly, as all good things do, the trip had to come to an end and we journeyed home on Monday, tired and happy after a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Thank you to all the staff who gave up their time to take us on such an unforgettable adventure!
