Twelve Year 7 and 8 girls chose horse riding as their reward trip this term. For some, it was their first experience around horses, and everyone who went said they learned so much more about horses than they ever expected to. First time rider Emily Dalton said, “At first I was really nervous, but once I was on the horse I relaxed and had a great time.” The group was split into two to have a riding session, learn stable management and finished the day walking round the fields discussing how to keep your horse healthy and safe. All the girls fell in love with the ponies they rode and we even managed to get Mr McIntyre on board! However the star of the show was Mist, twelve week old collie pup, who we had to check hadn’t been smuggled onto the minibus when we returned to school.
