Some of our wonderful Year 8 and 9 pupils have just returned from an informative and engaging interfaith conference hosted by our link school Blackburn Central High School.

The conference addressed the theme of charity in both Christian and Islam faiths and was a fantastic celebration of the many similarities of the two faiths.

Prior to the conference, we were privileged to be taken on a tour of the amazing open plan building by the Deputy Head Mrs Hussain which our students were mesmerised by.

At the end of the speeches, students from our school and BCHS asked relevant questions on the topic of charity and faith to the guest speakers and then enjoyed mingling with each other over refreshments in the open plan library after.

This successful event is now the third of many planned link events with BCHS in the spirit of celebrating British Values and preparing our students for life in modern Britain. We look forward to welcoming Year 7 pupils from the school to Shevington High School next Thursday and Year 10s to our Holocaust Memorial events in January.
