What a great day we had at the Cockroft institute, courtesy of Liverpool University. 50 Year 9 pupils were treated to a talk on particle physics and then took part in hands on workshops to make different motors, generators and Van Der Graff generators. Students solved problems, worked in groups and filmed their own progress. Finishing off by presenting their findings to each other at the end of the day. Each group worked closely with Liverpool University graduates, undergraduates, professors and doctors.
We would like to thank Liverpool University for providing this opportunity and inspiring our students to follow a STEM career.
Well done to our pupils who were fully engaged in the day’s activities, challenging each other and asking questions throughout the day.
