This week we have had our Scholastic Book Fair return to school. Situated in the library, and open to all students and staff it has been a roaring success. It has proved to be very popular with KS3 pupils, and has raised a significant awareness of literacy throughout school.
We have sold a fantastic range of fiction and non-fiction books, posters and stationary, with the sales of our 2 books for £1.99 being our most popular, books are flying off the shelves.
It has been refreshing to see pupils excited over their purchases and watching them become captivated by their new book. Students have been very excited about the Book Fair and we have been kept very busy at breaks and lunches.
Promoting literacy is a key focus in our curriculum and we will certainly see a return of the book fair in the not too distant future, to ensure we keep the magic of reading alive!
