Friday 26th June saw Shevington High School’s first ever annual Year 7 Spanish Day. Pupils were treated to a “trip to Spain” where they completed a variety of exciting language-based tasks including; completing boarding cards for their “trip”; obtaining money from a bank; buying postcards and stamps; filling out a shopping list at the supermarket and, best of all, ordering and receiving authentic Spanish food in ‘la cafetería’. The day was a real learning experience for the pupils who were able to use their latest Spanish knowledge in a realistic and spontaneous manner. The feedback from the day was excellent, with all pupils gaining new knowledge and enjoying their authentic experiences. It looks like this will be an ongoing yearly event!
