30 Year 10 students enjoyed a fantastic Campus visit to Manchester University and Manchester Metropolitan University today. Our fabulous Year 10 students were taken on a fascinating tour of the incredible university buildings including the newly built Arts building and the impressive 24 hour library. This was followed by an highly informative and engaging session on university courses and admissions requirements as well as other important issues such as finance and living arrangements.

After a truly delicious lunch at the university canteen, students took part in a wonderfully collaborative group task where they created an exciting ‘society’ in the student union. Our students competed against other schools to win the most ‘subscribers’ to their invented ‘Society’ and a we were thrilled that a team of our students won the competition with their efforts. Well done Shevington High Year 10!

Thank you to manchester University and GM Higher. The thoroughly enjoyable and educational day has successfully resulted in our Year 10 students earnestly beginning to reflect on the impact a university education can have on their future and the wider life choices available.
