On Thursday 17th and Friday 18th March, Shevington High School’s Science Department played host to Newfold Community Primary School. Over 2 days, around 60 pupils from both Year 3 and Year 5 were treated to various volcano themed scientific demonstrations and experiments lasting around 3 hours. The sessions went hand in hand with the syllabus that the Year 5 pupils had recently been following, providing them with a hands on insight into the behaviour of volcanoes including the elements that they are made up of and the types of gases they produce. Both days were a success with both pupils and staff from Newfold Community Primary School thoroughly enjoying their experience.
