A group of Year 9 and Year 10 Historians took a trip to the Imperial War Museum North, in Manchester, to take part in workshops and to learn more about the Cold War and WW2.

The interesting and moving stories of ordinary people living under Nazi rule in Germany made fascinating study and brought history to life for the pupils. Real life artefacts were used to illustrate the stories of some very different lives and pupils enjoyed handling and learning about their significance.
After lunch, the focus shifted to the home front with an exhibition of clothes and wartime fashion and the stories behind them. A time line study of significant events in the Cold War brought the history studies almost up to date and put recent events into context for our Historians.
