Shevington High School

The Big 6 - Parents

At Shevington School, we believe that strong partnerships between home and school create the foundation for student success, both academically and personally.

Parents are proud to send their children to Shevington. They appreciate the positive changes leaders have made. They know their children are well supported to succeed here. Ofsted, May 2026

Our Big 6 Expectations for parents and carers outline the key ways we can work together to support your child's journey:

1. Read and reinforce the behaviour policy principles with students.

2. Ensure regular school attendance, punctuality and not take holidays in school time.

3. Ensure students wear full school uniform and are fully equipped.

4. Read and promptly respond to school communications, being available when necessary.

5. Attend and engage in all meetings/events relevant to the students.

6. Support students to work hard at school and home, by embracing challenges and showing resilience.

"A child’s education is a shared responsibility, and the best learning environment is created when parents and schools work as partners."

Leaders have very high expectations of for how pupils should behave. All staff share these expectations.

Pupils have a secure understanding of how to treat others.

They know that any incidents of unkindness will be dealt with quickly and effectively by staff. Ofsted, May 2026
