The inspirational talk covered many areas including presenting, first impressions, emotional resilience and the realities of the highly competitive jobs market our Year 10 students will enter in the near future.
Preparing for success
The talk forms part of our Personal Development program and aimed at Year 10 in particular, as they prepare for the final year of school education. The Summer term also brings college taster days and careers interviews for all pupils
Claire spoke about how entrepreneurial skills such as drive, creativity and resilience are desirable qualities employers look for as well as vital to possess for those with the ambition to go it alone. She highlighted role models and progression routes for students to get into today.
Students spoke to Claire after the talk and told of how it was really inspiring to hear of the journey of someone who from humble beginnings made a very successful future despite numerous setbacks along the way.
