Preparation for Work Day 2020
As part of our commitment to ensuring a whole education for our students we will be holding our Preparation for Work Day on Friday 14th February 2020 at Shevington High School.
Throughout the day, students will be attending various workshops which should be full of useful information for their futures and will attend school dressed in smart, professional business clothes.
In addition to this each student will undergo a 15-20 minute 1-1 interview with professionals from around the Borough and will be given formal feedback. This has proved to be a very successful event in the past and we ask you to support your child by ensuring they arrive on time wearing professional dress for interview and bringing their CV and their own record of achievement (certificates, results etc.) in a wallet. Students will need a pen and note book but not their school books so an A4 folder/wallet is advised.
The sessions that the students will enjoy are:
- CPR (NCS)
- Employability (NCS)
- Well-being / Resilience (NCS)
- Sexual Health (Spectrum Team)
- Interviews (Mr Alty and Wigan professionals from colleges and LA)
We look forward to having a highly professional and successful day where your child gains a great deal of knowledge and skills on preparing for the world of work and life as a young adult post high school, more especially learns the important skills required to be successful at interview.
